Education

Technical High School degree in chemistry at the Industrial Technical Institute "Spagnesi" of Turin, Italy.
Final exam: 52/60.

M.A. in Computer Science at the University of Turin, Italy.
Final exam: 110/110 cum laude.
My study plan was aimed at obtaining special skills in the following areas: MIS, project development and software engineering.
My final thesis concerned Object Oriented software development, with a special emphasis on the Type Theory in an OO language.

Quite good knowledge of English (Second level course at "The Shenker Institute of English" in Turin)

Work Experiences

1983-1985

at CLARES in Villastellone (TO), Italy: expert of Plastic Automotive Parts Prototypes casting.

1991-2002

at CSI-Piemonte (Consorzio per il Sistema Informativo della Regione Piemonte) in Turin, Italy.

After a first period in which I developed DB3/CLIPPER database applications, my job focused on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

I started studying territorial analysis and modeling techniques using ArcInfo, a dedicated software package by ESRI ( Environmental System Research Institute, Inc. ).

The following two years, as a GIS Project Leader, I followed several different projects, keeping personal contacts with the clients and - at the same time - taking active part in the application development process.

In the last five years, I have been in charge the design and development group of GIS of CSI as Chief Software Development Manager. This group, composed by 10 - 12 people developes spatial applications for many Regione Piemonte's Administrative Divisions like Territorial Planning, Environmental, Parks, Extractive Areas, Transports, Geological, ecc .. All the applications are built using ESRI's software products (ArcInfo, ArcView, MapObjects, ArcSDE).

The role involves also both technical aspects like an active technical support for all those GIS activities concerned with the maintenance of the spatial data base, and aspects more managerial inside the Territorial Divison like internal tutoring, human resource management, technical support for the projects.
